Always wear a full-body safety harness that is TMA certified - while ascending, hunting, and descending from your tree stand
Do not alter your tree stand
Never loan your tree stand to or allow anyone else to use your tree stand unless they read the instructions and agree to use a TMA certified full body harness at all times
Always practice using your tree stand at ground level, as you become more comfortable, gradually move to a higher hunting height
Never exceed the manufacturers weight limit of the tree stand or safety harness
Never leave your tree stand outside for long periods of time
Always set-up and use your tree stand with other hunting friends present, you should never set-up your tree stand alone, if you are hunting alone be sure to carry a two-way radio or a cell phone with service on you at all times
